911 Dakar
The Porsche 911 Dakar reinterprets the 911 platform for mixed-surface capability while preserving high-performance engineering.
Inspired by Porsche’s rally heritage and the brand’s historic Paris-Dakar victory, the 911 Dakar combines increased ride height, reinforced body protection, and all-wheel-drive traction with the acceleration and balance expected of a 911. It is engineered to extend performance beyond traditional pavement.
The 911 Dakar is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine producing 473 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through an 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and standard all-wheel drive. With Launch Control engaged, the 911 Dakar accelerates from 0–60 mph in approximately 3.2 seconds under optimal conditions.
The defining difference lies in its suspension and ride height. The 911 Dakar features a raised suspension system that increases ground clearance compared to standard 911 models. A hydraulic lift system further raises the vehicle when needed, allowing for improved clearance over uneven terrain. Reinforced underbody protection helps safeguard critical components during off-pavement driving.
Porsche Traction Management and specialized driving modes are calibrated specifically for low-grip conditions. Rallye and Offroad modes adjust throttle response, torque distribution, and stability control systems to optimize traction on gravel, dirt, or uneven surfaces. Despite its expanded capability, the 911 Dakar maintains the steering precision and balance associated with the rear-engine platform.
Exterior design includes widened wheel arches, protective cladding, and a fixed rear spoiler optimized for both performance and durability. Unique wheel and tire combinations are engineered for mixed-surface grip while preserving on-road stability.
Inside, the 911 Dakar retains a performance-oriented cabin with lightweight materials and driver-focused instrumentation. Connectivity and digital displays remain consistent with the broader 911 lineup while reinforcing the model’s purpose-driven identity.
The 911 Dakar expands the boundaries of what a 911 can accomplish. It blends rally-inspired capability with Porsche’s established performance architecture.
